Over
50 years experience in the field of the process
for phthalic anhydride production have led now
to the development of a new generation of 4 section
Switch Condenser able to guarantee excellent yields
with gas flows at high loads. The higher efficiency
leads to a regardable energy saving, a reduction
of the number and size of the necessary equipment
to reach the production goals and a better and
optimized operation of the plant.
The consolidated experience in this new type of
condenser lets to guarantee the condensation and
the discharge of phthalic anhydride in the pre-arranged
times. That is obtained with the number of units
tightly necessary, so reducing to the minimum
the pressure changes in the process lines at the
alternate switch of each condenser; avoiding,
in such a way, variations which could affect the
catalyst life-time.

Technological scheme:
